Should I not be doing that? Does opening the chests with a key somehow replace the trinket with generic heirloom loot? I've tried to google this question but not found anything, so I'm wondering if the wiki map is just wrong, or if it's just something everyone knows and doesn't write about. Now, I am using skeleton keys on these chests, since they look like the kind of chest you use keys on. Similarly on this map, I killed the croc and opened what was meant to be a non-CC trinket chest, and got the same kind of reward. However, I only got a bit of gold and some other stuff, crests I think, I forget. Prior to the expansion, Hamlet is a sanctuary. This represents a dramatic shift in Darkest Dungeon’s philosophy. When I did the baron map, I went to the extra effort of getting the red key and going to the chest on the bottom right of the map, since apparently there's supposed to be a crimson court trinket in it. Conveniently, a solution is immediately introduced: head into a new area, the Courtyard, and deal with the source of these blood-hungry pests. When logged in, you can choose up to 12 games that will be displayed as favourites in this menu. I am unashamedly going through the courtyard for the first time with the help of a map from the wiki, since this game is more than hard enough for me already.
